Ichiban Sushi and Frostbite @ HDB Hub

Red Star Restaurant - Weekend Dim Sum and Yum Cha

Pansy and I both craved for dim sum and we realize we have not tried Red Star which was a history and tradition in Singapore so we planned one with Joel and Jason on a Sunday afternoon to satisfy our craving.

We were greeted by the busy kitchen as we entered from the back door after parking.

So seventies.

The crowd was crazy and we were queuing outside the main door. But I must say the queue cleared up pretty fast.

Once we got our table, we just kept on ordering from the trolley lady, I believe we may have ordered almost 20 stacks and so did our bill built up. It wasn't the most fantastic dim sum but standard was there for a good family gathering and tradition. Pansy and I love the Thai Tofu and I think the chicken feet was not bad. The roasted delicacies was ok, as we've tasted better. We had porridge, and prawn filled dim sums. I need my char siew puff and the egg tarts looked irresistable. If I take a slower feast, I believe I will appreciate it more. As I've said, it was not bad after all. A great breakfast cum lunch since we all missed out breakfast for this meal. Pretty silly, but we really ate alot.

I was so full I did not eat dinner after we watched Green Lantern. Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively's hotness kind of fill me up even more, so I skipped dinner. Green Lantern was not so bad as most people have said it. I kind of prefer it over Hangover II. Though Hangover II was funny I think it was more silly than funny, kind of irritating though it's not that I got put off by any dirty jokes. Green Lantern was a little mundane in the beginning with the ugly aliens and boring intro but there was definitely some action and quiet romance which is probably more of my kind of movie. Haass.. All in all, I enjoyed it :)

Pink Dot 2011 @ Hong Lim Park

I was lucky to find out that my sec school classmate, Grace was going to the Pink Dot event this year and her friend Serene. We met up at Fairprice TPY HDB Hub to get some snacks and headed to Hong Lim Park.

Upon our arrival we were greeted by greenery and a spread of wholesome pink which makes the mood so cheerful and easy. We were early, very early in fact, but there were picnic mats lying around and people already chilling around.

Free fan that cheers you up in the humid weather.

I don't know much about dogs, but I really love this one a spot that was pretty near to us. So lovely :)

Let's gather to form the dot!

The dot grew from 4k last year to 10k+ this year! It's not a dot anymore! Albeit the humid weather, I love that I was part of the event. The support for the freedom to love and the acceptance of LGBT in our society :)

After we departed from Hong Lim Park, Grace brought us to her uncle's place for Zha Jiang Mian which I really fancy! The shop was decked out with tourist photos grinning from ear to ear just like the la mian when stretched from one end to another. :)

I think the Suan La Tang was divine, a great starter which even reminds me of a shark's fin soup.

The Zha Jiang Mian was defnitely not the kind that shocked me when I had it in my poly foodcourt. It was the right amount of tastefulness and chewiness with an appropriate feast of mince meat that went so well with the handmade noodle.

Grace wanted to introduce us to her favourite almond dessert but it was not available that day. We ordered the water chestnut dessert instead and it taste so unique and savoury. I have never had something like that before. I fell in love with it. Haas..
