The first and the fourth show living rooms that are really appropriate for HDB flats. The grey walls does not appear too concrete with the artistic discoloration and I like the hint of metallics from the TV console and coffee table matched with the sofa color (no idea what color is that). The speckled floor reminds me so much of my ex-neighbour's house who were from Hong Kong as they had similar ones that were more saturated.
I love the black spacers in the fourth one where the tv is mounted because it's very dynamic (and it's monochrome!). I feel that the sofa and the the windows balance out the dramatic side of the opposite wall while the green two-tier coffee table and the textured rug spruced up the fun in the living room.
I'm super intrigued by the last one that is designed by a advertising agency art director for his 4-room HDB flat. It's a very innovative space that seems to have a seemless flow with the see-through glass (even the study room). You can click on the link below to see more pictures around the house. The bedroom is very artistic and sophisticated too. It definitely can be a happy space for his wife and daughter because this kind of space always remind you to keep your mind open.
It's really all about design and practicality. For me, living in a cramp space certainly don't make me any more cheerful. It worsens when you see dust in between gaps of your cabinets, furnitures, etc. Although the third photo's title says "clean slate", I'm really not sure about the decor right above the dining table. Major dust collector? I really love black furniture. And if you love black furniture like me, you got to think twice when your home is located near the road or if there are frequent constructions going on around the neighborhood. It will just be a display of your visible dust collection. I'm lucky because I also love wood so it gives me an alternative. Hah!
