The title is just a joke. My dad and grandfather are Fu Zhou decendents, my mum is Hokkien, my grandma is cantonese, and for all i know i'm mixed. HA-HAs! My mum made an effort to get me the Hokkien tradition of mee sua and hard-boiled eggs for my lunar birthday.
Mee Sua for my birthday which I greatly appreciate but also greatly fear due to the way-filling hard-boiled eggs that I die-die must consume. It's not home-made because Mum's too busy, but I still love. Thank you very much :)
Yesterday we went to serangoon ave 1 to visit my grandparents and had our dinner at a nearby coffee shop. Kimly Seafood is what we eat everytime we visit my grandparents. They deliver family favourites at family-friendly prices which we love. We have our all-time fav that is the Sweet Sauce Half Chicken everytime and we ordered a great dish of dou miao last night. The winner goes to the Chicken soup of mushrooms, black fungus, tender chicken and wine. I can't get enough of the soup!
Sorry for the incredibly large images, but downsizing it just makes it really pixelated which I have no idea why. The aftermath of our dinner below, spick and span. We were completely full and unable to move. Hahs!
So looking forward to meeting Zhen & Kays tmr for the movie Despicable Me!
Ciaos!
