I never thought I would ever get my own bottle of fragrance. My mum love perfumes. From Calvin Klein Escape, DKNY, Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo Boss, Dunhill that my parents wore when I was a child left a deep impression in my heart. I always get a spritz from my mum or I uses fragrance samples due to the fact that I did not have any bank balance in the past. So I've always been into smells but no one knows. My nose is pretty sensitive and I can distiguish a knock-off or a dupe with notes from an original perfume. My friend once got me a DKNY Be Delicious and I instantly know from the first sniff that it's a knock off. It smells nothing like what I smelt in department stores and it's pump is slightly on the malfunctioning side too. Definitely not the hugely popular and instantly attractive and breath-taking DKNY green apple that everyone loves.
Shopping and hanging out with my colleagues individually at SASA and Sephora always brought us to the frangrance section. Sher was the one who introduce the fragrance to me. She did not own one at that time but commented that her friend had it and it smells Soooo Nicccee. Haas! I took a whiff and was captivated. Funny enough we did not purchase it. Until a while ago, she happen to know that her friend bought the L at BeautynScent.com.sg. Guess what, it's sold at an unbelievable price. We had to have it and I kind of jump on the belief that it's not going to be a fake.
The gem arrived at branch and I was not at work that day. Sher bbm-ed me to say that it smelt soooo nicccee and I was so excited. When I received it the next day I immediately put it on. I dislike overpowering smells so I only sprayed on once which last for less than an hour. I was dissapointed. However, the smell still wins. Second day I sprayed twice on each side right between my neck and collar bone. I guess it lasted for 3 hours? Oh mans, sad. Sher and I were sad that this incredible smell can't linger through the day. We even thought we were lucky to get it at a steal since it's lasting power is that bad. I ended up leaving it on my study desk as an art deco for the next two to three weeks.
The recent tues, I was on my way out to work and I took notice of the purple sphere on my table before I head out. I wanted to smell it when I took notice of it. It gives me a peaceful feeling. As I sprayed on my body, I inhaled a delicate, citrus floral air of peacefulness with a tinge of freshness to perk me up. I decided to put on more. Two times on each side of my neck and once on my wrist which I gently transfer to my other wrist by tapping. I keep smelling myself on the bus and I was delighted. Hees! :)
Sher was about to enter the washroom and I went in too. Her first reaction was "It's that the perfume?!" I was busy so I told her yes and I left to do my things. Apparently she told either Sharon or Pansy that the perfume I'm wearing that day was nice and one of them question her if she bought the same one as me. Eventually she realize she did. I told her her sprayed on 4 times and it last longer but seems like after 5 to 6 hours it's gone.
At night when I change out of my uniform I can still smell L. It was the sweet musk that was left, the base notes I guess. I was pleasently surprise. I must have gotten some on my shirt and it last till I got home at around 10pm. I had to let Sherlyn know so I told her to try spraying like 5 times today. Haass.. she hasn't got back to me yet since I'm on leave. But I guess I'll use L for better occasions.
I just read the original notes of this perfume and it's describe like this - Green freshness of Lilac, Delicacy of Wisteria and Peach Blossom and the Generosity of Chinese Osmanthus and Lebanese Cedar. I have no knowledge of these smells until now. So I guess if wasn't sweet musk at the end of the day but cedar with sheer sweetness from osmanthus and the remaining scent of peach blossom.
We can record visuals and sounds but taste and smells are much more interesting. It leaves an imprint of the moments that was happening around you at that time and can only remain as memories.
Would I buy this fragrance again? I probably would. But I might just want to keep it as a memory after I finish the last spray as my first owned perfume. I have so many more scents I want to get my nose on.
