So today, a customer came when the branch closed to ask regarding some foreign currency financial info. I was talking to him through the glass door and my fellow colleague needs to send off a customer. While they went out another lady came and started asking about her transaction very quickly. So I had to gently put a hold to continue serving my first customer. Before I finish doing so, he started to express unhappiness and spoke to me louder gradually. I was taken by surprise although I clearly know he was trying to stir up issues that is not even on a reasonable basis to begin with. Hence, I had to invite him into the branch although the branch was closed. Eventually my boss went to serve him and I believe he has feedback to my manager. Upon this experience, I realize how humanity is a cruelty of its own kind.
It seem as thought the person was 'educated' to behave in such a way to get what he wants with the knowledge that us service providers have to treat him like king. I would like to hold the concept of treating all my customers like king. Tall, short, black, white, rich, poor are all equal in my eyes. I have never felt the need to treat a privilege customer with superior service. However, I have a personality which I still struggle with today i.e. to serve a complaining or demanding customer that wants everything his way despite rules and regulations. It is disheartening to see a person who displays his wants in a immodest behavior. It's even sadder to know people of the same industry with industry knowledge to be making a big fuss and displaying authoritative behaviors on issues that can be resolve on a diplomatic platform. On an even sour note, the slightest smirk you notice after the whole process just makes you feel utterly disgusted. Pretty shameless, isn't it?
