I love Youtube. I may not be the kind that rush out to buy all of the beauty products mentioned in the videos, but I would definitely be on my feet if I'm not saving for school. I am obsessed with makeup and skincare videos. I definitely love product reviews and reviews from beauty hauls. Seriously obsessed. Haas! This post is dedicated to my favourite beauty youtubers and I'll post up a fav video of each guru and you'll see why. Enjoy! :)
Of course, this obsession started after I chance upon a channel more than a year ago by the Top Beauty Guru of All Time, Miss MichellePhan! Her make up tutorials range from everyday make up to clubbing, cosplay, theatrical, media inspiration (lady gaga!), skincare routine, diy skincare and recently with fashion and hair advice too. Her sponsored videos by Lancome (!!) are some of my favourites too. She has come a long way to become a Lancome ambassador and coming up with her own line of make up and skin care called IQQU. I love the variety of beauty videos in her channel, the visuals and the music (mainly Samantha James and Late Night Alumni which I'm loving) displays the amount of thought and time she spent in her videos. The videos are easy to watch and advice are clear and understandable. On top of that, she has a charity channel, RiceBunny that dedicated to give back to the community. A very heartening initiative. Show your support for her channels and I'm sure you'll not be dissapointed. What's more? She loves gaming, so don't be fooled by her all girl image and go check out PressStart, another youtube channel for the love of gaming.
On a side note, I am really proud of us Asians. From Michelle Phan to KevJumba to nigahiga, WongFuProductions and DavidChoi who gained more than a million subscribers each, we proved ourselves to be an influential race. :)
Besides my all-time favourite that I've mentioned above, here are my other favourites you should check out too! :)I officially start following her after a great fragrance review she did for one of her videos. I was trying to know more about some opinions of certain smells but wanted to avoid my eyes from dodgy fragrance blogs so i turned to youtube. Her video popped up with some others. But to be honest, I actually skipped her video first and check out the rest. Eventually, I was dissappointed because all those girls just keep saying the same things about the scents they have. "It's a very pretty scent, awww, i love it so much... floral, fruity, fruity, floral, i'm not too sure.... I love the bottle... I'm a sucker for perfume bottles.." Gosh! It just turns me off. Let's face it, 8 out of 10 perfumes has really pretty bottles. Of course I understand not everyone knows exactly how each note smells in a perfume, but those videos just can't give me any idea of the smells. Makeupbymel on the other hand gives really honest opinion and her views are much broader than the rest. Basically I can better understand the whole idea of the perfume even without smelling it. Please don't mistaken her channel as a fragrance review channel just because this is my fav video of her. Mel has a lot of beauty tips and make up tutorials that you should check out too. She's really herself and that's what I like about her.
2. MissGlamorazzi
I love Ingrid! I think she looks so sweet and her makeup is always so natural and sweet looking. Plus, her videos are really well paced and she does not rush through the items she talks about in her videos. She is very generous in her giveaways and very very often she has prizes to give away on her channel. She has inspired me to go out and get those lovely nail polish and scented candles. How I wish I can get similar scented candles as hers although I have never smell any of the ones she has mentioned. But she always has it at the side of her bed and flickering at the back of her video which I can't take my mind off imaging how great her room smells. Definitely going to check out some scented candles the next time I'm out shopping. :)
3. FleurdeForce
Fleur has the biggest and most beautiful eyes ever. I love that she's very enthusiastic in sharing her favourites in beauty and make up and the new things she discover that she both likes and dislikes. She's friends with Ingrid from missglamorazzi and I just admire their makeup swops because I will thrilled to try out the things they send each other to try out. I hope I find someone who's willing to do that!
4. MissJessicaHarlow
Jessica is like the sexiest makeup gurus out there and it just makes me think that guys will quietly watch her videos at home and be in awe. Her tutorials are very sexy, sophisticated and feminine and it keeps drawing me back to her channel. This is one of my favourite Jessica videos and if you like it, be sure to check out the rest of her channels. :)
5. MakeUpbyTiffanyD
I love how Tiffany gives great tips in her dedication and passion for make up. Her tips are always fresh ideas that are easy to acquire and definitely workable. Like the tip she gave above for applying blue mascaras on the bottom lashes and also using color gel eyeliner to brush on eyelashes to ass on color if you do not have a blue mascara. How clever is that? Cool!
And one last one before we go and it's Miss LisaAldrige, professional makeup artist that has clients ranging from, Nicole Richie, Cheryl Cole, Claudia Schiffer, Lily Allen, Clemence Posey, Keira Knightly to Demi Moore just to name a few from her huge pool of clients. She is an English beauty herself and her style is very feminine and sophisticated from sexy to date, bridal to everyday, she has it all covered. She is definitely all about bringing the beauty of her clients and viewers from inside out. :)
